The following organizations provide directories of physicians and facilities that treat chemical dependency.
Substance Abuse Treatment Facility Locator: https://findtreatment.samhsa.gov/locator_classic
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration provides an on-line resource for locating drug and alcohol abuse treatment programs. The Substance Abuse Treatment Facility Locator lists private and public facilities that are licensed, certified, or otherwise approved for inclusion by their State substance abuse agency. It also indicates which facilities are administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Indian Health Service, and the Department of Defense.
Physicians Locator: http://www.csam-asam.org/member/search
The California Society of Addiction Medicine maintains a directory of physicians who specialize in substance abuse treatment. The Society does not make referrals for clinical care, and the list of members is not intended for that purpose. The directory does show whether the physician is certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM). The directory lists the specialty information for each member (as supplied by the member) and information about the member’s current positions. This directory is provided as a service to CSAM members and to those seeking a physician who specializes in substance abuse treatment. Only current CSAM members are listed in the physician locator.
The National Alliance of Advocates for Buprenorphine Treatment: https://www.naabt.org/
The National Alliance of Advocates for Buprenorphine Treatment is a non-profit organization charged with the mission to educate the public about the disease of opioid addiction and the buprenorphine treatment option. It also serves as a conduit connecting patients in need of treatment to qualified treatment providers.
